People have to walk away from any system that implements this. Have your back up networks in place so that you have minimum disruption but don't wait until it is too late. Governments will do a lot worse to us if they get away with this, so we are now fighting for our lives against them.
I see my future use of the Internet being so narrowed down by authoritarian policies that I’m forced to scrape the BitTorrent Distributed Hash Table myself and then accessing what I want from peers. That is, until they lean on ISPs to take away the Internet connections from people like me. Maybe I should just create my own version of the Internet, but with blackjack and hookers! 😬

Meta helped draft the laws. I believe that they want to make Instagram into an over 18s site eventually anyway. And nobody under 25 is using Facebook. But messager and WhatsApp are how perverts get in contact with children. They are more dangerous than any of the banned apps. Sportsbet and Pornhub also got exemptions despite their apps fitting the governments definition of social media (being able to make public comments, algorithmic feeds, etc.

Its fucked. Watching my country get turned into USA. The police are getting more and more violent, all of our freedoms and rights are being removed. We send billions to Israel and use it as an excuse to cut back on our own healthcare spending. Australia is a fucking joke. Albo is cucked beyond belief
