Today 90% of computers in China run Windows. This is 5% more than 3 years ago, when the party announced its support for Kylin Linux to explicitly get rid of American software stacks.
This is the true power of Microsoft. They can ban virtually every software company, but not Microsoft.

I use still use it for gaming and some software like photoshop but I have KVM switch with a Linux desktop that I use as my main computer. I've never had a virus on windows since I started using this setup. If I use a windows computer only, nothing by spyware and viruses all the time.

This is not true. Windows is more like 30% share in China. There has been a major shift away from Windows in China for a while towards some domestically produced Linux variants. Government computers can no longer run Windows, this was a plan 10 years in the making.
Obviously this is just looking at computers, if you extend this to includes phones (which is the only device for many Chinese), then Windows is nowhere.
Centralized control at this scale makes everyone vulnerable. The only way out is open source and self-custody.
