I wish Nostr had a wiki equivalent on par with the legacy web. I used to help with documentation and how-to's for Linux distros, but Nostr has no main place to do that. I would totally do the same for Amethyst. Lack of documentation makes Nostr way harder for new users to grok I think.

yes, bc they require maintenance and they're a website, not a client most shit gets funded to be done, not to be maintained and developed until infinity

The fact there are tons of them is a downside too, not a good thing. That only makes it more difficult for users to find the info they need. I've been using open source software for 25 years, lots of volunteer projects have *incredible* documentation.

it's unacceptable considering you can get LLMs to have projectile vomit of documentation. if you look at https://next.orly.dev/ it's absolutely chock full of documentation about things, some of them even just about some thing that was implemented, some plans, etc.

That's dev documentation. End users are like a deer in the headlights when they see a git page like that. I'm sure there is useful information there, but it's sub par vs things like the arch & Debian wiki. User forums 15 years ago were much easier to parse and use friendly.

that's just a matter of creating more accessible summaries written in a typical textbook style where you build understanding from first (simple) principles. this is something that the marxists have done to the education system, eliminating the - very ancient (pretty sure it dates back at least to the roman trivium) protocols for education. running a relay, is a complex task, but simple, good minimal settings could make it point and shoot, and then let the user decide how much further they go, by putting the more advanced stuff later, that is less important but potentially more empowering.

i'm going to do this, btw, get the readme refactored to be focused on personal and self hosted noobs. IMO, this is critical to pushing the envelope on decentralisation of nostr.

I think it's best for @Nostria to open all the links the same way, so when ppl share primal links or njump links (not working often) it's still opened in nostria client - that works every time

It would need to be added to Amethyst. I don't think there is a way to add new ones without it being coded in.
