Do We Get the Source Code?
This is one of the most common - and most important—questions we’re asked. And the answer is simple:
Yes. You own it.
Once development is complete and payment is made, everything we’ve created for your project - schematics, PCB layouts, firmware, source code, documentation—is yours.
This isn’t just a promise - it’s backed by language reviewed and accepted by IP attorneys on both sides of the table and used successfully across dozens of client engagements.
Here’s how it works:
- You receive full right, title, and interest in the final deliverables.
- If we include any of our own pre-existing tools, components, or libraries (what we call Background Technology), you still get an unrestricted, perpetual, royalty-free license to use it in your product.
- You are never locked out of your own project. We don’t sell software frameworks, licenses, or hosted dependencies. The goal is to empower you, not control the IP.
At Wolff Electronic Design, we’re not here to retain rights or upsell you on a platform. We’re here to help you build your product and own it entirely.
