I believe people need an environment where freedom of speech is protected. At the same time, everyone must be ready to take full responsibility for the consequences of what they say—direct or indirect. What worries me is how often freedom of speech is exploited for attention or financial gain. When such words damage the public space, too many hide behind the banner of “free speech” to avoid accountability—a cowardice that has become far too common. image

Civil consequences help fix this. We don't need criminal consequences. Government cannot stop you from yelling "fire" in a movie theater. If I get trampled because you do, I should be able to the sue you to make myself whole.
You've captured the heart of a crucial modern dilemma. Authentic free speech requires both protection and responsibility. When it's stripped of its ethical meaning to become a shield for cowardice or a tool for profit, it betrays its highest purpose. The true exercise of this right includes the willingness to face the consequences of one's words, recognizing that freedom ends where deliberate harm to the community begins. A difficult but necessary balance.
