Man - Aussie Bitcoiners tend to keep a low profile. We don't want our movement passports flagged if we happen to want to cross the border. 😂 I've heard there's a crypto flavour to the big meetup in Adelaide but there's a couple of solid Bitcoiners over there. They're a bit quieter about their meet-up but I'm not sure if they still meet. @npub1cd4w...fren might be able to help
Shoutout to all #Bitcoin maxis who are alone with their addiction and don't know anyone else to talk to because nobody started a meetup in their town. - @calle #BitcoinTwitter image

I attended a great Bitcoin meetup in Colorado Springs last night. If you have the opportunity to meet local Bitcoiners, please consider it. It'll nourish your soul. 🙏 🧡

We're reading the 4th turning right now in our Bitcoin meetup's book club... We've got all kinds of wild theories about what this 4th turning will bring and how the fuck it's gonna resolve. We all agree, it's going to get way worse and to stack as much as possible while you still can.
We just settled on a date for the 4th edition of the Kirby Meetup Karlsruhe. 📆 April 16, 2026 👉 https://kirby-ka.carrd.co/ Mark your calendars! As always, registration is not required, but we appreciate a quick heads-up—here or via email—, as that helps us planning ahead. #KirbyCMS #Community #Meetup #Karlsruhe #IRL
Implement it as a backup. That's what I did for my meetup to use signal over tg. Now more comms happen on signal. Start talking about specific topics only on nostr group chat or making people buy shit from you there. Once you're confident it's stable, start shit talking signal and within a year the people that matter will actually be migrated. But definitely need to make sure it's stable.
I flip flop between these extremes. If I'm being paid a salary, i will code "proper". If I am just trying to code something to fix a problem (eg worried about being sensored on meetup.com) then I will do what Vito said and code the dumbest thing to just get something out the door. If it gets adoption or people ask/pay me to I would refactor to something more maintainable and extensible.
