It's getting to the point where it is very safe to assume all governments are going to go hard in the paint on overt digital surveillance in our lifetimes.
As such, it won't be hard to plan accordingly, if you start now. Don't assume you can just traipse into the panopticon in a consumooor LARP -- companies won't and can't be tripping over themselves to sell you "lifestyle" devices and services to protect yourself.
Buy/build devices that you think will be illegal in the near future. Learn to reduce your digital footprint. Learn to use free software.
