One of the prisoners released today was Zeregabir, who was a renowned Eritrean/Ethiopian cyclist and a big business man. Zeregabir was my neighbor back home, he was someone that I loved and who was a father figure to me. I never thought he would be alive after all this years.

For all the crimes he commited against thousands of refugees and migrants, 20 years feels nothing. At the same time hopefully the victims will have some sorts of closure and an end to their trauma caused by him. I have chased this guy for almost 10 years & hopefully one day when we have a peaceful and democratic Eritrea, he will be tried and face judgment
