so long as the clear fiscal insolvency of the federal government impends and you suspect that you are being made to pay in to a system from which you will never be able to take out:
why would you play?
why not jack up your time preference to βimmediateβ and take as much as you can from the existing system before it falls over? itβs going to do that anyway and obviously, someone will benefit from plundering it to death. so why them and not you?

And again, I believe some still NEED the assistance. But I'm looking at widows/orphans/disabled vets...and having to grandfather clause several vs cutting them off cold turkey.
But even that weaning should only happen to US citizens who are NOT able-bodied to start working.
I am not far off from this perspective...however, even though I do think private individuals/charities would take care of the widows/orphans/disabled vets/etc...I'd want those programs to be sunset vs stopped cold turkey.
That allows us to ensure those groups have a safety net of protection and security.
