🍊 orange update 🍊 Did some test resin work on a scrap piece of wood. From an earlier post you will know that I Fvcked it up because the resin leaked out from the sides (forgot to clamp down the gaps with plastic 🤦). I tried to take as much wood off from the sides but the wood is like a sponge and it absorbed the resin. You can see the difference of what the leaked side looks like (1. Bad) vs. what the untainted side looks like (2. Good). The side with the leakage is almost black and the resin has discoloured the wood (Yuk). The good side has a nice natural colour to it which is where I did the resin work again and had no nasty resin leakage(attempt #2). I learnt from my experience and also later from a YouTube video that before doing any resin work, you should seal off the wood with a small amount of resin. This stops the wood from absorbing too much and prevents the discolouring seen in the pictures. I also made an attempt to chamfer the edges to give it a 45 degree look. Fvcked it up on the first few attempts but did it almost perfect after that. I used a planer tool to do the chamfering. This is all just testing and getting some experience before I can finish the actual table top to a good standard. #DIY #Bitcoin #Mining #BTC #Wood #Woodworking #Hardwood #Paint #Art #Artwork #Epoxy #Design
Sometimes you just gotta Fvck around and Find out! Gm gm gm!
What I'm thinking is to post a picture of the table top after its completed. Any pictures of the process will posted then to. For now I will post text based updates of the table top. You know... to keep some suspense.
totally forgot my wood finish method (sanding, spray, product) 🫨 luckily I posted it on nostr 😁
