I watched a YouTube video on "how guys should handle a first date" and what I found fascinating was that the advice was like trying to teach someone how to train a dog or how to approach some kind of animal. It was focused on verbal and touch cues that were supposed to result in almost Pavlovian responses - there was never any concern about intellectual engagement, compatibility, values...etc.
Modern dating really has descended to animal ritual, hasn't it?
