I'm taking a break from Loops to fix some recent federation issues in @pixelfed While I'm at it, I'm also fixing some old bugs like proper cache invalidation in Notifications, improved support for libvips and other file formats, and more! I get that people may think that Loops is simply a TikTok clone. But a clone wouldn't ship 26k LoC to add ActivityPub support*, publish all source code under AGPL, or support full data export and migration. Most TikTok competitors are driven by financial motives, whereas Loops isn't. This matters. A lot. You can't serve two masters — either you serve your people, or you serve the money. We chose people. ❤️
