Armenia has requested the withdrawal of all Russian troops stationed at Yerevan airport. This is the latest in a long series of actions aimed at distancing Armenia from Russia, after Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan accused Russia of having abandoned his country during the war against Azerbaijan.
Armenia also joined the International Criminal Court (ICC), the same body that issued an arrest warrant against Putin, and recently, the Armenians suspended their participation in the Russian alliance CSTO, claiming its uselessness in defending its members.
In response to this estrangement, Russian state media has labeled Pashinyan a traitor, inciting the Armenian population to remove him from power, otherwise, "Armenia will disappear in 5 years."
