Awesome quote from Blake Eastman: "If people could step into curiosity over judgment, they'd have an infinitely better life." https://www.youtube.com/embed/A7hHFTHn56s?start=2530
For some reason, the human psyche seems to nearly always progress from "#Bitcoin makes no sense" to either "it can't possibly work" or "it's a scam" to "I missed the boat and I need to find the 'next Bitcoin' now" before finally realizing the truth. Bitcoin does work brilliantly. Fiat money is the actual scam. Bitcoin is the only acceptable solution to supplant fiat. And with a deflationary supply, it's never too late.
Prediction: we're going to find out (eventually) that Fort Knox does not have *nearly* the gold it claims to have. People will start to question what the Federal Reserve Bank actually does, and what value a Federal Reserve Note actually has. The US Federal Government uses the opportunity to kill the so-called Federal Reserve Bank and take back direct control of monetary policy for the US Dollar. After all that, the dollar still fails. The only question in my mind is "when?" I think there is a 25% chance it happens this year. 95% in twenty years. Happy to hear why I'm wrong.
Audit Fort Knox. Audit the Fed. Audit the IRS. Establish a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve and simply publish the UTXOs so we can all audit it. OK, maybe you'd better establish the SBR first.
Far too many people today just assume that charity is a proper function of government. It is not. Even worse, they then double down from that false assumption to conclude that theft perpetrated by government (primarily against someone else, of course) is therefore justifiable. It is not.
Been away from Nostr for a few months. Can't even think of a good excuse. Did I miss anything? 🤣
After a long and detailed analysis of the situation, I've changed my mind and decided that hard money was just a 5000-year fad. This current 52-year experiment where money is whatever the money printers tell us it is, well that is clearly the solution that best benefits all of society. The faster money can be counterfei...I mean, printed and handed out to the rich people with the coziest connections to government, the more government can be expanded, the more the lower and middle classes become increasingly dependent on government for everything, and the more true wealth and power gets transferred to the richest folks at the top. I mean we can all get behind this strategy for a better society, right? I know the President told us in 1971 that the closure of the gold window was just a temporary measure, but I say it's time we put an end to the fear that hard money might some day again be declared the law of the land. Why should we continue to let that fear hang over us? Let's just go ahead and declare this fiat money experiment a complete success, and make it permanent! While we're at it, we should probably reinstate Executive Order 6102 from 1933 and seize everyone's gold once again. And more importantly, outlaw all the math behind the open source protocol known as #Bitcoin. And we should probably put limits on private holdings of all other assets like real estate, rare art, and baseball cards. If any escape hatch is left open, some folks who don't share our utopian vision of limiting class mobility might try to use those escape hatches. We can't have that. (Of course, all the best tightly regulated investments that can only be held by rich people should be fine as long as we maintain high enough standards to keep ordinary folks out.) So in this spirit of a more perfect society, where everyone just stays in the social class they are born into, I have decided not to wait for the official new Executive Order, but rather go ahead and pre-comply by burning all my Bitcoin. If you care about ensuring that governments everywhere have unlimited ability to expand into every aspect of our lives, and if you support the vision of putting a hard cap on upward social mobility, so the non-rich just stay in their place, I hope you will join me. #fiatforabetterworld
