I've mentioned it before but something I really love about Japanese games is that they still have the spirit of retro games. They tend to still prioritize the fun factor above everything else and, in many cases, they tend to be quite creative as well. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of atmospheric, cinematic, realistic games as well but I don't know, playing Japanese games from both the modern AND retro era just reminds me of why I love video games in general. #RetroGames #Japan #JRPG #gaming

I'd really like to see a modern 2D game that has beautiful pixel art, but is fully rotoscoped in the animations. I feel like the technology today, combined with the creative solutions of the past, would make for a "best of both worlds" scenario. :luigithink:

I had never heard of this game until I started watching Retro Bird and as part of the Genesis Steam collection that I recently picked up, I started playing it for myself. Man, it's addictive. It has the same vibe as Sonic, but with greater detail in the art and the gameplay, of course, feels more like a traditional platformer. If I feel a great sense of discovery with just ONE of these games, I genuinely can't wait to hit the rest of the collection! #SEGA #RetroGames

I really love how so many people hated The Phantom Menace when it came out, yet they loved this game. Has anyone ever played this game? I'm told that it's basically a Slavic #NoMansSky from long before NMS was even a concept in Sean Murray's head. I have it on GOG but haven't gotten around to playing it yet, though I might considering how I've been leaning into my retro games library.
