Does anyone have any tips on how to restore a big box game box if you don't have the cardboard tray anymore? I found my big box copy of #Morrowind (Game of the Year Edition) and unfortunately, it ended up crushed under a bunch of stuff and the cardboard tray wasn't inside. The game discs and all the contents are perfectly fine but the box is in rough shape and I'd like to restore it as much as possible. #RetroGames #BigBox
Even though I love every TES game, #Morrowind had such a sense of adventure and mystery that none of the other games had. #RetroGames #RPG #ElderScrolls
Anyone else remember this game? It effectively began the very niche genre of hacking sims. Yes, it's a relic of its time, showing the same general ignorance of how the internet worked that society as a whole had, but it was still a lot of fun. I might have to revisit it one of these days! #RetroGames #hackingsim #cyberpunk
I spun up a server on #199xChat called Cyberspace Lounge. It's themed around the old web, retro tech, synthwave/vaporwave aesthetics and general nostalgia for that era. I realize that's basically what 199x Chat is in a nutshell, but this server is focused on the retro internet and aesthetics side of things. So, if any of that sounds appealing to you, let's have fun pretending modernity doesn't exist! https://199x.chat/invite/c6CFE6AV #retro #internet #nostalgia #vaporwave #synthwave #cyberpunk
Really awesome bundle of some great classics, here! I already have most of them on GOG but I'm thinking about going for this bundle since I don't have the 2021 remake, nor do I have the other Cyan titles in this bundle. #RetroGames #Myst #adventuregame

I'm no coward but I won't lie, some of the aliens in #HalfLife/Black Mesa force me into full body chills. I'm in the Power Up mission in Black Mesa and between the soldiers (who have pretty solid AI even now), the dim lighting with a few flares and my flashlight, and the fact that houndeyes are lurking in the darkness, it's a spooky environment. What makes it worse is how the houndeyes can be heard, but you can't see them due to Black Mesa's use of darkness. They just charge out of nowhere. 😬
Last night, I finally got around to picking my Black Mesa playthrough back up and I worked through the Blast Pit mission. Not only did I thoroughly enjoy it but Crowbar Collective really knew what they were doing with the lighting in their version of the game. Between the epic and cinematic rocket incineration here, to the massively atmospheric green lighting of the radioactive waste pools, it was thoroughly immersive and made me feel like I haven't felt in ages. #HalfLife #Valve #BlackMesa image
You know, as I explore, I'm realizing that the Sega Master System could have easily beaten the NES if not for the fact that the Master System just didn't have the kind of library the NES had. Just like with the Genesis, Master System games have that distinct Sega "vibe" and the art seems to generally be more appealing to look at. The problem really is the library. There are some great games for it but it lacked the market power and variety the NES had. #SEGA #RetroGames #Nintendo #NES
Many point to games like Warcraft 2, Age of Empires or Command & Conquer as their favorite RTS. As for me, I believe that Total Annihilation (and TA: Kingdoms, which I love just as much) is the pinnacle of the genre.
