There's an excellent Masto tip by @npub12j3p...y6qj quoted below. To clarify a bit, you *can* mute conversations on other people's posts *if* the posts appear in your notifications. There are two scenarios where this isn't possible and the tip is needed: - If you follow someone and they reply to a person you also follow, you will see their entire conversation without notifications. This tip lets you hide it. - If you're seeing the same post boosted many times, you can use this tip to hide it. View quoted note β†’

If you're comfortable using Github, you can vote for this number to be adjustable at #FediTips #Mastodon

If you see a post you want to share but you want to add a Content Warning (CW), it is now very easy to do this: 1. Go to the post you want to share 2. Quote the post (on the web interface click πŸ” Boost and then "Quote") 3. Add a CW to your own post, the one that appears above the post being quoted. This will hide everything in your post including the quoted post. This used to be impossible, but since Mastodon added quoting it also allows adding CWs to posts you want to share. #FediTips
Servers are safer to use if a setting called "authorized fetch" (also known as "secure mode") is switched on. Ordinary members cannot activate it, it can only be activated by the server's admin. When it's activated it makes blocks much more effective and greatly reduces unwanted interactions. You might want to ask your server admin to switch it on. If they're unsure about it, they can find lots more info and step-by-step instructions at #FediTips #Mastodon
