Well, this setting looks new. You can now just turn off search ads in DuckDuckGo with a suggestion that you help spread the word. So I guess this is me spreading the word apparently. Enjoy search that doesn't track you! image
There are so many AI generated Christmas shirts at Lowes this year and they're all so tacky and gross but hey that's free market capitalism for ya
My daughter just asked me why almost every Christmas song is about marrying Santa hahahahaha
Anyone else notice the annoying trend on algorithm-based social media where a clip from an older movie is posted where it's not immediately obvious what the movie is, but it's very familiar, with the text something like "I will never forget this scene after all this time" and you have to click through to the replies and find the one person saying "what's the movie???" then click those replies to find the person who knows the movie and is kind enough to post the title. So then the algorithm boosts the post thinking users really want to see what people are saying about it but they're just looking for the title. It's kind of like engagement bait but not quite. It's like nostalgia targeted information bait. I dunno. Anyone? Just me? Anyway that's why I like it here better. You never see that here.
Being a home-owner/mortgage-payer-offerer/bank-servitude-ador sucks because you have to pay close to a grand when the dishwasher that came with the house breaks. But at least I can have as much smashed avo on fancy sourdough toast as I want in peace (which is exactly what I'm doing right now while the dishwasher runs. Delicious!)
RE: Kinda glad we had to go back to a month and a bit of hand-washing before getting this new replacement dishwasher so we could truly experience the difference it makes. Hanging up my rubber dish gloves for good now. Feels amazing! (Didn't actually wear gloves but you get the metaphor) View quoted note →
