On #mastadon if you are on a server that shares your beliefs & doesn't censor you, nobody else (like admins/mods from other servers) do not have the ability to censor you, correct?
That #nostr is the better protocol is out of question, but mastadon isn't bad, either (when held up to the rest of the offerings out there).
Because it's further along and has a much higher adoption rate (my perception), I don't mind using Mastadon as a "main stream" platform parallel to nostr while we wait for the world to catch up...
Remember #Deso?, the social blockchain & #desofy; I was on that train for a while about a year ago and it's system using Deso tokens as a reward system was very similar to the zapping that's going on here. The difference being of course that lightning's association with bitcoin puts it in a different that's about where nostr feels like right now; however, it was a MUCH more difficult platform to use (very similar to Threema).
So, let's see where things continue to develop & do what we can to support.
