#ScribesAndMakers Dec 14 Shameless someone else promotion day!! Ugh! Why do you do this to me? They're are so many great indie authors on this very hashtag. Buy indie! I guess my favorite of the ones I read this year is Dionysus in Wisconsin by EH Lupton @npub1q32a...xgsx But she is annoying me right now cause I couldn't remember her handle, nor easily look it up 😫 🤣 Still, great book, I read it in 2 days.
#WritersCoffeeClub Dec 14 Share how you tackle a first round of revisions. I don't do formal "rounds" any more than I do formal "drafts." Editing/ revision happens as I write. I start off each writing session reading at least a chapter or 2 back & will edit/ revise. Once the entire draft is complete, I'll go back & read from the beginning & do more editing & revisions.
#PennedPossibilities 873 What is your MC’s favorite meal or drink? Maggie doesn't have a favorite meal, although she prefers those she doesn't have to cook herself. For drinks, her favorite is oeuvre, which is kind of like wine made from flowers. Like most mages, she also enjoys mageric cordials which are shots which bestow temporary qualities, depending on the brew. She also won't turn down a good tenquiro, which is a northern alcoholic drink she's come to appreciate.
#WordWeavers December 14 Are your characters incapacitated by injuries, or do they brush them off as flesh wounds? 😆 I have so many characters, I don't know how to answer this. Depends on the character & how serious the injury is. A few of them die or have to be buried. I don't have any characters who are invincible to injury, but mages have great healers. They can even reattach limbs.
Interesting. According to the article, this will only apply to ebooks published after Dec 9, which means none of my ebooks would be included in this change. I was kind of hoping they would be included so my previous Amazon purchasers could actually own my books. Not wanting them to lose access is the main thing keeping me on Amazon right now.
#PennedPossibilities 872 How would your SC react to being mocked or made fun of? I'm going to cheat & talk about a character who's an SC in my current WIP, but an MC in her own book. 😈 Beau Rey is half sprite. Human sized with unnerving sprite features. During an incident in her childhood, she displays a sprite power she calls "the killing light." That prompts fear & rumors. She tries to keep her head down & be good, but, once grown, says 'fuck it' & throws herself into partying.
#WordWeavers Dec 13 How do your characters relate to nature? They try to stay on its good side. Ardonna's "nature" is way more powerful than them.
