What's the longest book you've ever read?
The History of Western Civilization by Will & Ariel Durant was 10 or 11 huge, hard-back tomes. I lugged each of them home from the library & read them cover to cover.
#PennedPossibilities 871 — What is the greatest extravagance your MC lets or would let themselves have?
There's no money in Maggie's country. Nothing costs anything. There is, however, work, called "service," where citizens perform tasks or create things according to their abilities, to keep the country running & add pleasure & value. There're lots of goods & services available. Extravagance, to Maggie, is taking time off to enjoy them.

Who is a writer whose life inspires you?
I've mentioned her before. Anais Nin bought a printing press, set her own type, & self published in the 1930s. There are aspects of her life I wouldn't emulate, but I admire her boldness & self-confidence. And her brilliant writing. Of course, she had more privilege than the average person, but there're worse things rich people could be doing with their time & money than inspiring other authors. 😊
