#WordWeavers Dec 12 Are bodily functions omitted or discussed in your stories? I like to include real life elements in my fantasy stories, though do it sparingly. Characters menstruate and piss. There's a scene with someone pooping outside. They get nauseous, they puke. They sweat & get desperately in need of a shower.
#ScribesAndMakers Dec 11 People are often frustrated by the lack of engagement on social media. Do you have any ideas for how to improve it? I personally see plenty of engagement--I strike up conversations when I see something interesting in a post & this usually results in some back & forth, with others chiming in. But I've found this much easier to do on Mastodon where people largely have good intentions & seem more interested in decent conversations than on other platforms I've been on.
#PennedPossibilities 870 Name something your MC fears losing. Maggie has already lost so much: friends, family, home, possessions, an entire freakin planet. She gets a lot of flack from people she cares for who think she doesn't trust them or believe in their abilities since she constantly tries to keep them out of harm's way, but she can't stand anymore loss. Most recently, one person in particular is determined to form an equal partnership, & she is having huge problems coping with that.
#WritersCoffeeClub Dec 11 How do you keep track of plots and subplots? They're just in my head. 🤷 Occasionally, a new idea will pop up in the course of writing, & I'll make myself a note to circle back to it, so as not to leave anything hanging. Mostly, I know my characters & where they're all going. I do have a spreadsheet for each book which includes a chapter breakdown with key events so I can find where things happened later when I need to tweak something.
#WordWeavers Dec 11 What does your MC think of love? She thinks it causes a lot of damn trouble. And why is it happening to her again?
