Privacy was never a promise in the beginning. If privacy was embedded as a 1 click function the protocol would have been killed in its infancy. Period.
So far it's pseudoanonymous at best. Moving forward it's entirely up to the ingenuity of its users. Everything looks impossible until someone does it first. Then it's gradually accepted as fact according to each user's level of understanding.
