Since Bitcoiners like to flirt with buying a gun, I can report from my own experience that I find owning a gun a burden. I advise against it. Why burdensome? > You have to be extremely careful that no unauthorized persons have access to the weapon. > Every 5 years (in Austria) the police ring your doorbell to check that your gun is properly stored in the gun cabinet. No discretion is to be expected. The police car parks in front of your house. The 2 officers ring the bell in full uniform. The neighbors ask what happened. > You must train regularly in the use of a weapon so that you have a realistic chance of not endangering yourself more than you protect yourself. -> Against the 5$ Wrench Attack I prefer a fat wooden club from the hardware store in several corners of the apartment.
