One of the most common and frustrating misconceptions I hear from people with negative opinions of Bitcoin/crypto is the prospect that if it becomes widely adopted, they will be forced to use it. But the whole point of this technology isn't to replace the existing system but to be an optional alternative to it. Bitcoin is supposed to empower your choice of the kind of financial system you want to engage with, by giving you a second option.
