This was an alt radio hit in the US in the late 80s. Top 40 radio was always lagging John Peel recommendations, sometimes by years. But alt radio was run by people who liked music, not payola fellation. Capital chases successes. It doesn't take risks. It externalizes risks and concentrates gains.
