  Description:
Monika Bravo was commissioned by the architect Gabriel Cure to conceptualize, photograph, design, and produce this book. As a translation of his work into her vision.   The reader has in their hands a book that brings together the work of an architect and an artist. It does so not by putting them next to one another, nor inside one another, and least of all, by limiting the artist’s job to being merely the designer or illustrator of a book exclusively about an architect.  […] ...What the book offers the reader, or visitor, are other experiences, different but comparable to the sensory and emotional experiences that Gabriel Cure’s architecture would offer that same visitor. There is an additional aspect in which, according to the artist, this book and Cure’s architecture meet. It is in the concept of the creative process as simultaneously a path and a transformation, almost like a rite of passage. “The making of this book was a journey or a trajectory that started when I saw something that somehow I could not define,” affirms Monika Bravo, “and that started to become clear through the use of macro lenses that allowed me to distance myself with respect to what I was seeing in Gabriel’s Architecture¨.    Carlos Jimenez, The alchemist’s book, essay. 👇
