@β‚Ώen Wehrman do you have a podcast on the rabbit hole that physics, as we know it, is incomplete or misleading? I've stumbled across the topic of biological transmutations, but I am still far too ignorant in physics to make an educated guess on whether it's a waste of time or not.
@SoapMiner wen deodorant?
In my almost 3 weeks in the US, here's my unsolicited experience so far: -Shooting guns are crazy fun, it was the first time my wife and I did so. -You can find dirt cheap deals on clothes in a shop like Burlington. -I'm surprised at how much decent quality things people throw out of their homes or sell at a garage sale. -There is a huge amount of variety of food and drinks at stores but prices are at least twice as high than in Mexico. -Traffic is insane between Atlanta, Nashville and Charlotte. -Sometimes it feels like I never left Latin america, so many Latinos everywhere. -Gasoline is cheaper in the US than in Mexico. -There seems to be so much available work everywhere, especially for truck drivers. -Middle income america and middle income mexico have huuge differences. -People don't look at us funny when I mention we homeschool.
Super worth a listen, @β‚Ώen Wehrman is really doing an awesome job at going down different rabbit holes. Agree with him or not, he has guts and a lot of curiosity, because a lot of these topics can be highly controversial. This episode about immigration, for example, can spark a lot of outrage, but it was very based and balanced in my opinion. I say this as a Mexican and someone who grew up illegally in the United States for over 10 years. I have no issue sharing this. I probably wouldn't be where I am right now if my father wouldn't of taken the tough decision of leaving everything he had here in search of a better life, I probably wouldn't be helping people the way I am helping them now, I probably wouldn't be a bitcoiner in this moment of my life. Nonetheless, I can agree and know a bit of the living hell the border is, and for every honest hardworking individual looking for a better life, there is also a monster crossing that border. Something has to be done. The problem though is clearly outlined in the conversation, government in general. The USA government has clearly caused a lot of this migration due to their interventionist actions throughout the world in the last decades, they have also facilitated the mass entry of illegal immigrants. The Mexican government created an inflation problem so big in 1994, that my father was forced to close his shop and be consumed by debt, so much so, that going to the USA seemed like the only option. My father didn't want to go to the USA, most latinos would choose to stay where they are, especially due to the strong family ties we have, but necessity will always overcome this desire. You either join the cartel, which is simply supplying demand for their products/services in the USA, or you look elsewhere. Government fucks all and #bitcoin fixes this.
