Spain has a huge impact of intermittent renewable power generation on its electricity grid (fotovoltaic, solar and eolic generation).
Also Spain is now in the spring season, not much need for air conditioning.
What if there was a huge imbalance between a large amount of generation added in the middle of a sunny and windy day and a very low demand for electricity, which was even lower due to a strike in the railway system?
Could this have been the cause of the blackout?
