I have several old tube radios to repair. I have my work cut out for me. But safety first!
So I'm building a simple lightbulb current limiter, and buying a variac and a isolation transformer.
As well, I've got another #ham #radio project in planning at the moment:
I received a kio hex beam antenna and I'm planning to purchase a harbor freight trailer and tilt-up mast to mount it on. This way I can take the hex beam to field day, winter field day, POTA, and I can use it at home without mounting it on the house since I'm a renter.
I was asked to help a widow of a silent key empty her storage unit. It was hard work. They had accumulated #radio equipment over 70 years. A #ham since he was 10 years old.
There is so much, and she knew I couldn't just throw it away. Old tube receivers, transceivers, a linear amplifier.... Tubes and tubes and tubes. So many antennas. My dad had to haul out the big quad antennas. I was gifted a brand new hex beam as well, still in the box.
I got home today and I'm unloading. I filled the bed of my truck and a uhaul trailer.
70 years of this man's passion. I have to keep it alive.
Sats are on discount again.
GM Nostriches. I have the pleasure of having a circadian rhythm that thinks 4AM is a fine time to wake up. However, it didn't get the government memo that the clocks all changed, so now its 3AM wakeup. FML.

Working on a company to sell t-shirts with some special flare. Anyone have tips for accepting lightning? We were looking at using springtee or perhaps another T-shirt printer.
