Playing with an idea for a new sculpture.. Carrara marble and orange calcite. A glowing column inspired by classical civilizations with Bitcoin accents. Definitely with a light source behind the orange calcite.. Bitcoin will form the basis of a brighter future and what better way to represent that than one of the most recognizable symbols of civilization: the column.
Polishing is done… Not sure I’m satisfied with the sanding though. I may go back and redo it. Could just be perfectionism rearing its ugly head so I’m going to sit on it for a bit and see how I feel later.
I kinda hate working with resin… …but I also kinda love it. Done for the day. Done with sanding. Tomorrow I’ll get to polishing and if all goes well I’ll end up with a beautiful glass like finish. Stay tuned..
This year at @The Bitcoin Conference I’m proud to display three of my finest works in stone. Each piece is a testament to Bitcoin, Bitcoiners and this once in a civilization movement that I’m lucky to be a part of. Going to Vegas? Would love to connect. I’ll be hanging around the art gallery so come say hi. And if you’re interested, check out all the @Scarce.City auctions, mine as well as all the others. I’m blown away by all the talent on display this year. See the link below for more info. image
Nearly done sanding. A few of the tighter areas to finish and then I can move on to polishing. There are more air bubbles than I would have liked and some visible swirls in the clear resin, but I’m still happy overall with how it’s turning out. This sculpture was a pretty expensive experiment for me and the largest resin pour I’ve ever attempted, so I’m glad it worked out in the end. image
