At what point does morality actually matter? Moral arguments supersede consequences. That is the power of morality. โ€œIf we end slavery then who will pick the cotton!?โ€ Answer: no clue. Doesnโ€™t matter. Slavery is immoral. Reality: weโ€™ll develop metal monsters that burn ancient crushed tree juice to automate away the manual labour. The moral argument is our compass to use because the future is unpredictable. If the moral argument is correct, like a perfectly tuned compass, you will find yourself navigating to the future with the optimal circumstances. #morality #philosophy
Censorship is a top-down phenomenon, where information is suppressed by power. Individuals performing ostracism is _not_ censorship. Not wanting to listen to someone is _not_ censorship. Likewise, not wanting non-monetary transactions in my mempool is _not_ censorship. It's not virtuous to be pro-spam, and you're certainly not "anti-censorship". (To be pedantic, you could actually use spam as a _form of censorship_ by crowding out good information!) #bitcoin #spam #filter #knots #core
