I just had a terrible thought: what if the Electoral Amendment Bill just accidentally outlawed a bunch of libraries on election day and all advance voting period days (as they provide free entertainment and are frequently well within 100m of polling places) but no it looks like they did at least think ahead enough to exempt entities who provide free food/drink/entertainment in such places in the ordinary course of business. https://www.legislation.govt.nz/bill/government/2025/0186/latest/LMS1460037.html They've also exempted providing free water, so that's. Something. It does seem to be illegal to give "I voted" stickers to people if it's specifically to people who voted. https://www.legislation.govt.nz/bill/government/2025/0186/latest/whole.html#LMS1460024
Gardeners of Aotearoa, do I recall correctly that mildew on zucchinis/tomatoes etc can be combatted with a white vinegar spray? What concentration? Also is there a better time of day to spray it - early morning? evening?
This morning's harvest seems a bit excessive! Genuinely I've been getting about up to 300ml each morning. I'll be busy tomorrow morning so today picked some that weren't quite as ripe as I usually would but mostly these raspberries are just that prolific. image
