moving into student halls after years of ~5Mbps ADSL and there suddenly just... being an Ethernet port with 1Gbps symmetric internet access and a routable public IP... that was a feeling.
Something about the idea of associated functions in Rust taking self as an argument (I.e. moving self into the function) strikes me as so elegant. Especially for "converting" type functions that take the object and build something new or transform it into another type... I know it's not a groundbreaking development as things go, but I just think it's neat.
Update on the Fox inverter saga...
They responded to my ticket about the weird constant battery charge/discharge cycle while idle. They said they'd upgrade the firmware on the system and see if that resolves it. The BMS (battery firmware) is now upgraded. This morning the inverter "ARM" and "Master" firmwares also upgraded.
Still behaving exactly the same though :blobfoxsad:
