Thinking checks and balances and transparency are cool, it seems to me like we should want agency directors chosen by the president and confirmed by Congress for four years and only removed for cause. The director should be able to replace staff if they refuse to follow their legal orders quite easily. A president shouldn't be running the agency but should get to decide who should, presumably someone they can tell to do stuff but who wouldn't have to and could speak up without being fired.
We need to somehow rebrand the corporate platform algo as a Faustian deal with the devil. They are getting a boost only to be locked in and make it harder for all their followers to leave too. Which then makes it harder for those people's friends to leave also. Got a good hashtag?
#Affordability will happen when the government efficiently provides the services that the people demand that the market can't do well and we prevent the concentration of corporations beyond what's necessary to provide goods/services at a reasonable price.
