Realizations while setting up a firebase project for the first time in a long time.
- Really don't know why Google renamed Google Cloud Messaging to Firebase Cloud Message (Firebase is an all time lame name).
- It's really something else remembering all the other projects that were in the running for app push notifications until Google made push notification completely free regardless of how many messages were getting sent out. The lockin/network effect on app level push notifications is crazy!
Yesterday I had the opportunity to virtually attend a Bitcoin meetup hosted in South Sudan.
I'm gonna have to make arrangements to attend a few of these in person because I really like how they are moving!
