I look for the symbols of wealth inequality in places others don’t. Who the fuck spends $824 on a minimalist bathroom sink faucet, except private equity douche nozzles trying to impress their friends with how much money they can burn on things nobody needs. image
Thanks for being the first one to comment. I was actually going to propose 4 months ago in a document I wrote that we should start referring to MAGA this way and start taking the word away from them. No one likes to be called “gullible”. Repeat no one, image
For literally my entire life, American conservatives have been demonstrably, if not empirically wrong about almost every single thing they ever advocated for. Meanwhile, American liberals have been obscenely incompetent at finding ways to make the public understand that. image
We’re a disgusting, lost nation, and I am embarrassed to be stuck here. And whether we like it or not, we’re all collectively to blame for it. We’ve let this MAGA cancer metastasize for too long. You won, MAGGATS. I finally *do* hate America. The one we let you build, anyway. View quoted note →
WTF? Only a Republican would mutilate themselves for a political stunt. #GOPersAreAllSickFucks ▶ Natalie Greene, 26, allegedly paid a body modification artist to scar her, before pretending to be assaulted in a politically-motivated crime.
Welp, so much for the Epstein’s alleged kinship with Democrats, eh? “Steve Bannon advised Jeffrey Epstein for years on how to rehab his reputation, texts show.” image
They knew they wouldn’t have to rule, but could have lifted the freeze and looked like saviors. But nah, they won’t anger the boss. So much for “the courts would have saved SNAP” arguments. SCOTUS extends temporary pause on SNAP.
A lot of people think that. I watch and read the same news as you and everyone else, and didn’t see a single sign that they had any interest in capitulating. Liberals need to realize that Republicans CANNOT capitulate. Neither Trump or Maga can or will allow it. I don’t know what else has to happen to make people realize that. They are now more cult than a party, and expecting them to be decent, rational, or responsive to constituents feels naive in the extreme. View quoted note →
For the life of me I still cannot understand why anybody thinks these Republicans would have not watched the entire country burn before they’d concede. They keep telling everyone they don’t care who hurts, and they don’t think it will hurt them to keep hurting. So what possible leverage comes from hurting millions THAT THEY WANTED TO HURT? I have yet to hear a convincing answer to that. Just a lot of contempt for those who decided what none of us had to decide. I’ve yet to see a single …
As I said, I’m all for referendums. I wish we had more of them. National referendums would be the a Holy Grail of American political reform. And almost certainly why we will never see them until we find our collective spine, shut everything down and just start demanding them.
