The state of Russian aviation: the An-22 heavy transport plane was supposed to be retired a year ago. Desperate for heavy lift capacity the Russian Ministry of Defense kept flying them... and the other day the last one had a catastrophic mechanical failure and crashed, killing the entire crew. π
The stupid thing is this could have been achieved years ago with bombs rather than economic failure, saving literally tens of thousands of lives.
