📍Government Confirms Crypto Assets Not Held in Consolidated Fund 🎤 Charlie Dewhirst MP asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer, pursuant to the Answer of 4 August 2025 to Question HL9820 on Cryptocurrencies, whether the Government’s crypto-asset holdings are deemed to be held in the Consolidated Fund under the Exchequer and Audit Departments Act 1866; and what the Government’s methodology is for valuing crypto-assets. 🎤 Government's Chief Secretary to the HM Treasury James Murray MP responded that the Consolidated Fund is a sterling denominated fund and therefore does not hold cryptocurrencies. 🇺🇸 The SEC and CFTC have announced a joint framework allowing registered exchanges to list certain crypto spot assets The SEC and CFTC issued joint guidance confirming that registered exchanges can now facilitate spot trading of crypto assets. The initiative, part of their response to the President’s Working Group on Digital Assets, aims to provide clarity ahead of wider legislation from Congress.
