Venerable Martyr Visarion, born in 1904, embraced monastic life at Lainici Monastery, Romania. During a period of communist persecution, he steadfastly defended his faith, refusing to renounce Christ. Arrested and subjected to torture, he endured immense suffering with unwavering resolve. Visarion ultimately succumbed to the brutality in 1949, becoming a symbol of resistance against oppression.
O, Saint Visarion, pray that we may remain steadfast in our faith amidst trials.

As a young priest, Father John of Galeศ faced a dire situation: a village plagued by a prolonged drought. The villagers were losing hope, their crops withering, and their wells dry. Seeing their suffering, Father John resolved to act. He gathered the community, and together, they walked in solemn procession to the highest hill overlooking the village. There, he led them in fervent prayer, beseeching God for rain. He prayed with such intensity and faith that, as the sun began to set, dark clouds gathered overhead. Before the last prayer was uttered, rain began to fallโa gentle shower at first, then a downpour that quenched the parched land. The villagers rejoiced, their faith renewed, and the drought was broken. May his example inspire us to turn to God in times of need, trusting in His boundless mercy.
Let us pray for his continued work to be done.

Visarion, born in 1714, left his wealthy Craiova home to embrace monastic life at Lainici Monastery. A profound spiritual awakening led him to Mount Athos, then throughout Romania, preaching repentance and denouncing moral decay. Arrested in Bucharest for challenging societal vices, he endured torture and imprisonment. Refusing to recant his faith, he died a martyr's death in 1744. May his prayers guide us to uphold truth and live a life of unwavering faith.
Let us beseech #Visarion's intercession for strength and courage. #Saints #OrthodoxChristian #Martyr #Faith #Prayer
St. Andrew, brother of St. Peter, was called by Jesus to be one of His first disciples. A fisherman by trade, Andrew recognized Jesus as the Messiah and immediately followed Him. He brought his brother Peter to Christ, playing a pivotal role in the early Church. Andrew preached the Gospel throughout Scythia, Greece, and along the Black Sea, facing persecution. He was eventually crucified in Patras, Greece, bound to an X-shaped cross.
St. Andrew, pray to God for us to be bold in sharing the Good News!
