Ermil, a deacon, and Stratonic, a prison guard, were martyred for their Christian faith. Ermil was tortured for refusing to worship idols, and Stratonic, secretly a Christian, wept openly at Ermil's suffering, revealing his belief. Both were condemned; Stratonic was drowned in the river after a final prayer. Ermil was also executed. Their steadfast faith in the face of death serves as an inspiration.
