Monero has the purchasing power of a ducat (/ΛdΚkΙt/ DUK-Ιt). The ducat was used in Europe for almost 700 years, containing around 3.49 grams of 98.6% fine gold. From Venice, ducats spread across the entire European continent and to the Orient. In the 14th and 15th centuries in particular, the ducat was probably regarded as a world trade coin, which was also used as a benchmark for weight comparisons.
