Pay attention Bitcoiners. Look for the Universal Digital Payments Network (UDPN.io) that is trying to unify CBDCs across the world under a single global payment standard. Only 'regulated' CBDCs and stablecoins will be permitted to transact on this network. While 'unregulated' public-chain cryptocurrencies like #Bitcoin will not be permitted.

#Bitcoin    energy usage is an easy punching bag because there is very little room for externalities between the energy usage and mining. It's a very straightforward process with no/few middlemen. The process is transparent so there are no 'unseen' costs. However...this provides ammunition for those who want to turn this transparency into a negative instead of a positive over the energy usage itself. Notice how these arguments never account for the current system. The behemoth of an apparatus that is slower and much more expensive but the externalities are vague and largely 'unseen'. When you take into account what the entire global financial system at large costs in energy (the bank buildings, trucks, planes, vaults, personnel, servers, paper, plastic, etc...) and divide it by that single tx, there is no comparison, #Bitcoin    is much faster, cheaper, and more energy efficient than the current financial system by far. Especially with the Lightning Network. All #Energy arguments against #Bitcoin    are disingenuous. Bitcoin haters will always use this argument, be prepared with facts.
