Got a phone call from someone (sorta) local who was looking for a used ThinkPad laptop with Linux. I can help with that! He found me through a web search and looked at my website. So websites still do matter. #thinkPad #linux
I should take the Vivaldi web browser for a spin (testing). I have not yet. One of the main reasons is that it includes a Feed Reader (RSS). That's a feature that most other browsers have removed, including Firefox. #web #rss #vivaldi
Looks fine. And I am sure it won't be implemented in a React web app like the Windows Start Menu is, so performance should still be great. I am guessing (have not looked into the details). #LinuxMint View quoted note →
Got a laptop back to a customer today. Upgraded from a small 128GB SATA M.2 SSD to a 256GB nvme SSD. Improved speed and doubled the storage space. Used #cloneZilla and #gParted to do the migration to the larger disk.
I just bought some juusto cheese #cashfriday
Any errors at all in memtest are bad, right? image
"But the root of the issue ends up being reach. Hardly anyone wants to produce media to an audience of nobody. If the intention is to get the word out, or share with others, reach is certainly critical. Again, this is a circumstance that the open web already has a solution for. RSS is a fully decentralized system for media syndication and sharing. If more people fully embraced the open web and even more ambitiously, the social web (AKA the Fediverse) essentially all of the problems caused by corporate media control would be systematically eliminated. The problem is that people have been taught to expect all their online media in one place. The toil of navigating through different websites and apps is a tremendous hurdle for the public to overcome." -- @gabriel #rss #peertube #fediverse
Interesting that "none of the content is used for AI training" is now an effective sales pitch. I am beginning to use that for my services, too. View quoted note →
