Story Time! On Sunday, I wanted to attend church again with the pope. But it rained and I decided not to go. Nevertheless, last night, I decided to return to St. Peters Square to pray. I pray a lot. It keeps me sane. Otherwise, the ways of the world will drive you crazy if you let it. I was praying for myself and other people. Then the temperature started to drop. I was shivering but I wasn’t leaving until I finished my conversations with God. We had a lot to discuss.
I was standing close to a truck selling souvenirs. I usually don’t buy souvenirs when I travel because I don’t like packing a lot of things. I’m cool with small trinkets. But I typically just take a lot of pictures as a way to keep memories.
The guy selling souvenirs walks over to me and asks if I’m cold. I’m like yes. He asked me what I was doing outside. I said praying. He said. “May God bless you” and asked if he could give me something. I said sure. He goes to his truck and gifts me with a beanie to keep my head cold. See image. He gave me a scarf too. It was such a generous moment. I am thankful, grateful, and blessed.
The small things. Acts of kindness performed without hesitation. In an instant. He didn’t know me. I didn’t know him. We just met. I love situations where people just “do good”.
The beanie didn’t fit over my growing afro. But it still looked cute on me! I love my souvenir. 🇮🇹
