This Thursday we're having a #webinar about support services. That is, practical help with your free and open source project. We'll be discussing: Technical writing, Testing, Translation & localisation, UX testing, & Troubleshooting. Speakers are the people who provide the support so it is a nice way to get to know them. The webinar is open to everyone. But note that the services can only be requested by people who've received an #NGI grant. Nov 28, 13.00 CET #NGI0 #FOSS
Besides financial grants NGI0 also offers practical support to beneficiaries. In the upcoming webinar Ask Us For Help we will introduce four support services: technical writing, testing, translation & localisation and troubleshooting. They will be presented by the experts who deliver the services. The webinar is open to anyone who is interested but note that the support services are only open to NGI beneficiaries. November 28, 2024. 13.00-14.00 CET more info: #NGI #NGI0
Let's get rid of all the binary blobs. In S01E02 of the NGI0 podcast we talk to Janneke, founder of GNU Mes. The project helped to significantly reduce the number & size of binary seeds used in the bootstrap of GNU Guix 1.0. He talks about working on GNU Mes, its community, NGI0 funding & calls for a 5th freedom: freedom 4. The freedom to build a program from source. "If you can't build a binary from source, how would you exercise freedom 0?" #FOSS #NGI0 #NGI #podcast
New! The NGI Zero podcast where we talk to the people who are building the Next Generation Internet. :) In S01E01 our guest is Joep Meindertsma of Atomic Data. The issue he sees with today’s internet is the siloing of data. It leads to users being locked into Big Tech ecosystems and it's hard to reuse data. Joep explains how Atomic Data, a modular specification for sharing, modifying and modelling data, addresses this problem. #semanticweb #podcast #foss #NGI0 #NGI
