The turnaround achieved over the past years is nothing short of spectacular:
📉 In 2019, the government budget had a $1.2 billion deficit
👍 For 2025, President Bukele announced a debt-free government budget
💸 In addition, the country offered to repurchase all its open debt notes
Adopting Bitcoin as a treasury reserve asset was a key element of El Salvador’s success story. Yet, the IMF is pushing El Salvador to limit “public sector exposure to bitcoin” and curb its Bitcoin law - wonder why… 🤔
