Dec 13, 2025 @ 05:59 Good morning family & friends❣️ I have been up for several hours after going to bed very early, even for me 😲 - as soon as we got home from Sam's yesterday actually. It was...er...eventful. We got there and had barely gotten started with our shopping when suddenly there was an incredibly Loud Alarm From Hell. For about 2 minutes. (I just wrote more about that in a health page update.) We had to leave, as we were told that they would be testing alarms for another half hour. So we left our buggy and went to a nearby sporting goods store to get me some ear protection "muffs" from the gun dept., gassed up the car, then went back to Sam's after 45 minutes just to be safe. Finished our shopping (I ended up having to sit and let Pete finish it), then came home. Casey & Bill came over to bring it in and put it all away - and there was LOTS - while I went straight to bed. NOT the day we were expecting. And to top it off, we bought a ton of lamb on sale for Pete with a sell-by date for tomorrow, and when they opened it, the house instantly stank of rotten meat! (Glad I was sleeping.) Casey is going to call Sam's today about returning the meat, over $100 worth! I hope we can exchange it, they had some nice legs of lamb there we would get instead. (Pete can only eat ruminant meat, seafood, and rabbit.) So. Not the day we had planned! Anyway, today I will be online/posting very minimally. In fact I will be out of bed only minimally. The "mini-devo" - such as it is - is a "cheat". There will be no Caturday post unless I can manage it later in the day. Just a heads up. That's how it's going to have to be, I'm sorry...but hey, you guys have a swingin' Saturday, eh? And I'll see you when I can❣️ πŸ™Œ 🎢 🌟 πŸ‘‘ 🌟 πŸ› ❄️ πŸŽ„ chia.owly.net/aint-that-the-truth ~ chia.owly.net/video-of-the-day ~
Dec 12, 2025 @ 12:43 Good afternoon, family & friends❣️ Well last night was one of those nights, I slept a few hours, woke up with thoughts swirling in my head which of course meant I couldn't get back to sleep (God also wakes me up when it's time for a talk, too) - we all know how that is right? Pete woke up shortly after, at about 3:30, and came down to the living room. We were both awake with thoughts swirling. Finally we discussed them and turns out they were the same things! Funny how God does that...we'd been thinking and praying about them, anyway, and we came to some conclusions and resolutions, and I was able to get back to sleep. Not so Pete. He usually gets up at about 4:30 anyway so he just stayed up. Anyway I was up again at about 10:30 and we really need to get some groceries in this house so I got showered and dressed before I did my usual morning blogging/tea drinking/PoiBoi playing instead of after, so I am ready to go when I finish up here. The negative is that I didn't get to visit my happy place before noon. Anyway, we're supposed to have wind chill temps WAY below zero for the next few days and the foods we have in the house mostly have to be cooked, we don't have much in the way of things to eat should there be a power failure. (Our appliances are electric.) So we we can't put it off any longer. I also have to make dog food today, though I think it will be a very basic one just for tonight and tomorrow morning, because it's going to be a hard enough day as it is; I can probably make a big pot of it tomorrow then. Anyway, I will see you later and I hope you have a festive Friday❣️ πŸ™Œ 🎢 🌟 πŸ‘‘ 🌟 πŸ› ❄️ πŸŽ„ chia.owly.net/aint-that-the-truth ~ chia.owly.net/video-of-the-day ~ To read the fascinating articles from which these photos and quotes came, see & (goes with the graphic below) image
Dec 11, 2025 @ 19:48 Good evening family & friends❣️ Well I didn't get done everything but I really didn't expect to...I did get 3 posts up though - WOOHOO! And hoping I can do the photos/video tomorrow! And the shopping...maybe? I also made a nice dish with a couple of squash I had roasted yesterday and planned to try then but didn't get to, and it was delicious, we both enjoyed it and have enough left over for tomorrow. I spent a bit of time today with Maxwell, trying to work on his painful screech, trying something new which may or may not work...will talk about that later...meanwhile it is my bedtime and I will see you in the morning, good night❣️πŸ₯±πŸ€•πŸ™πŸ›Œ ~ ~ ~
Life As It Is Now: My TBI Six-month-iversary
GUEST POST from Don – Pesticide Exposure image
Thursday Thrilliance – Dec 11, 2025 Edition
Dec 11, 2025 @ 12:18 Good afternoon family & friends❣️ We've been having the most gorgeous snowfall for the last hour or so, with great big fluffy flakes! I have the top half of the front shade open, and the side curtains, so I could watch. I think the PoiBoiz have been watching too, from their cage tops. Pete has been wrapping Christmas gifts; we aren't doing a huge haul this year, and everyone has already been warned, so most of our shopping has been done. Things are staying low key. I plan to do a Thrilliant Thursday post and I am looking forward to that; today's daily video reflects the theme as well. It is the 6-month anniversary of the accident that caused my TBI and I may or may not write a "life 6 months later" type post. Will for sure be putting Don's guest post up, no matter what else I can get to though, as always; my stats show he has quite the fan club and I don't want to start a rebellion hahaha! Anyway I am not in any shape to tackle a trip to Sam's today. (We decided to stick with Sam's instead of going back to Costco; will talk about that in the future.) And I still have a bunch of photos I want to edit to share. So, if I can manage it I have a full day planned and I'd better get started. Have a great day and find thrilliance everywhere you look❣️ πŸ™Œ 🎢 🌟 πŸ‘‘ 🌟 πŸ› ❄️ πŸŽ„ chia.owly.net/aint-that-the-truth ~ chia.owly.net/video-of-the-day ~ "We all know the story, don’t we? After all, the images and decorations at Christmas so often portray the shepherds standing at the manger. Any nativity scene would seem to be missing something if they did not have the shepherds."
