). I love how the seating/conversation area takes up about 2/3 of the space, and how my keyboard and my birds have their own area. Things like this make me happy! We did choose to swap the two ottomans however. The one that goes with my chair has, until yesterday, been tucked under it (it folds down to fit). But this morning we discovered that it is a bit smaller than the navy blue one - which actually opens up into lounge chair, or a bed - and in the mornings Maisie gets on my ottoman to cuddle with me, then lays on it while I work on my blog stuff. Well, she doesn't quite fit on the white one. So that is now covered in a blanket and by the window to give Chuy a cozy place to survey his domain. It works out better this way for both dogs (and for me). Anyway, we have to run up to a local store today for a couple of things but then will be home for the duration. The snow storm is supposed to hit later this afternoon and if it does, "the duration" will last until Monday, probably, depending on roads. Otherwise Pete will be going to church tomorrow (and me, if I'm able). I want to play my keyboard a lot, perhaps do some recording, which I haven't done in a while so I'm looking forward to that; one of the things we're going out for is a USB extension cord since with this arrangement the cord on my recording camera is too short to reach the file server. But that's a small thing and easily remedied. So I will now visit my happy place while there is time - only 15 minutes until morning is over! - and then get what I need to get so I can get on my with my day. Nov 28, 2025 @ 19:57 (Hey! That's the year I was born!) Good evening family & friends❣️ A great time was had with the grands today! I got a lot of quality time with little Luna, since she was here all day with me while the others came and went. And Leelan got the parts of the living room moved that I needed changed, per what I wrote about here this morning. I always love a new fresh look every so often!! Anyway I'm pretty wiped out, it was a great day but day 3 of busy-ness (due to the rearranging mostly, the kids are fun & easy!) so I'll be "lazy" the rest of the weekend. No choice anyway since we're under a winter storm warning and probably won't be getting out anywhere anyway. I will love that from inside our warm and cozy home...but I'm ready for bed so I will see you in the morning. Good night❣️🥱🤕🙏🛌

Nov 28, 2025 @ 11:27 Good morning, family & friends❣️ I have no plans for the day except the usual. The grands are here and will be in and out today; Casey and Lyra are going to a movie this afternoon (the 2nd Wicked movie), then this evening (the kids will already be home by then) she and Leelan and her BFF are going to a theater production of Six. Busy but fun day for them! Meanwhile Umpa (Pete) and Leelan are working on getting Leelan's Switch repaired at a local store right now, then Leelan is going to rearrange a couple of things in the living room for me. I love the living room as it is but there are some problems. Mainly with the PoiBoiz. I absolutely love sitting next to them. However I also absolutely cannot stand when Maxwell screams in my ear. He was never a screamer, poicephalus as a group are known to be fairly quiet. However they're still parrots, and parrots do scream. When we moved here Maxwell picked up some "local dialect" from some outside birds that screech. And he practices the language frequently. I have had many parrots over many years, and can tolerate a lot of noise but with some of the long-term effects from my TBI in June (mainly what one doctor told me are "complex migraines"), those shrieks are like swords piercing through my head...anyway, them being further away from me in this small space won't necessarily solve it, but we are hopeful that it may help, in multiple ways - not distance so much; we may also put some sound absorption tiles behind the cages (not today though) - whatever it takes. So that's the plan for today anyway, and I will be enjoying those great kids! I hope you have a fun Friday planned as well. I'll see you tonight❣️✝️🎹🐕‍🦺🦜🙌🍅🥩🌿🤕🚌❤️

Nov 27, 2025 @ 20:16 Good evening family & friends❣️ We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with Bill & Casey, Bill's family, and all the kids. Very nice. The grands came home with us (a tradition we've had for years, which gives the parents time to do some Black Friday Christmas shopping) and will be here for part of the day tomorrow. It is still cold and windy here but not unbearable if one is dressed for it - we've had much worse. The girls have already gone to bed, they're worn out. Leelan and Pete are doing what they do on their phones. I will likely be heading to bed shortly which is what *I* do hahaha! Nov 27, 2025 @ 10:58 Happy Thanksgiving, family & friends❣️ Just got up to a very windy morning here as a winter storm is moving across our Pleasant Peninsula. (Our state motto, in English, is "If you seek a pleasant peninsula, look about you." The original motto is, "Si quaeris peninsulam amoenam circumspice") I haven't checked today's weather since just before I went to bed last night - about 12 hours ago - so things may have changed. But not the wind 🌬️🍃💨. We'll be going to Casey's in a while, which is only a few miles away so even if the roads get bad we'll still be able to get home. Anyway as you can see, I'm doing minimal updates on the site today; there will be no fursday posts although the daily video is of a thankful turtle 😄 that's as close as it will get. I will get Don's guest post up though. I will try to remember to take some pictures I can post (probably tomorrow) too. Meanwhile I have so much to be thankful for, and though I thank God daily I love having a day where I can meditate, pray, and focus on all He does for me, in spite of circumstances and situations, and give Him thanks. All day! While we enjoy family and feasting, that is what brings joy to my heart on Thanksgiving.
