On this day in 1977, the Sex Pistols single “Pretty Vacant” re-entered the Australian charts at #74 (December 19)
The punk anthem peaked at #52 in Australia, and went all the way to #6 in the UK.
Rotten was at his belligerent best, snarling the disaffected lyrics over Paul Cook’s urgent, driving beat, and Steve Jones’ simple, raw riff, (which Glenn Matlock said he was inspired to write by the ABBA song “SOS”!)
“Pretty Vacant” was third of the Sex Pistols first three singles which went on to become punk anthems, after “Anarchy in the UK” and “God Save The Queen”….

Born on this day in 1943, Keith Richards, 'The Human Riff', guitarist, singer, songwriter and founding member of The Rolling Stones who have had over 35 Top 40 singles and albums.
Rolling Stone magazine said Richards had created 'rock's greatest single body of riffs'. Classic albums include: Sticky Fingers and Exile On Main Street.

HENDERSON KJ STREAMLINE MOTORCYCLE, 1930.
A unique, iconic example of Art Deco design.
Built around 1935 by Michigan metalsmith Orley Ray Courtney, this custom motorcycle is based on the legendary 1,300cc Henderson KJ-smooth, fast, and capable of over 100 mph.
Original KJ was only made from 1929-1931 before the Great Depression ended its production.

In 1984, Jim Banks at Voodoo. Cronulla. Jim is a surfer, shaper and explorer.
In the 1970’s, Jim was among the first to surf the incredible waves of Uluwatu playing a pivotal role in introducing the surfing world to Bali and Indonesia.
Growing up in Cronulla he cut his teeth on the beaches of Cronulla, Voo Doo and Shark island, and seen here casually playing under the lip of a VooDoo guillotine.
